SVHC Previews October 13 Medical Matters Weekly

BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Health Care's (SVHC) Medical Matters Weekly with Dr. Trey Dobson—a weekly interactive, multiplatform medical-themed talk show—will feature Southwestern Vermont Medical Center's Director of Population Health Rory Price, MPH, on its October 13 program. The show will air at 12 p.m. She will share results from the Community Health Needs Assessment conducted earlier this year.
 
The show is produced with cooperation from Catamount Access Television (CAT-TV). Viewers can see Medical Matters Weekly on Facebook at facebook.com/svmedicalcenter and facebook.com/CATTVBennington. The show is also available to view or download a podcast on www.svhealthcare.org/medicalmatters.
 
After the program, the video will be available on area public access television stations. On CAT-TV, viewers will find the show on channel 1075 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, 1:30 p.m. Monday, 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 7:30 a.m. Friday, and 7 p.m. Saturday. GNAT-TV's Comcast channel 1074 airs the program at 8 a.m. Monday, 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 1 p.m. Saturday.
 
Price's professional interests include improving the social determinants of health in rural communities, addressing health disparities related to socioeconomic status, and improving health equity through health education programming, systems change, and community organizing. She earned her master's in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where she also developed content for a research study designed to prevent incidence of stroke in residents of Flint, Michigan. She earned her bachelor's in sociocultural anthropology, also from the University of Michigan. She has worked for several local non-profits, including Greater Bennington Interfaith Community Services, Inc. and RiseVT. She started her career as a community health project coordinator with AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) at Southwestern Vermont Health Care in 2015.
 
Upcoming guests include Vanessa Britto, MD, the associate vice president for Campus Life and executive director of Health and Wellness at Brown University in Rhode Island, at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20. She will discuss the university's pioneering role in mandating vaccines.
