Pittsfield Reminds Residents of Power Supply Program

Print Story | Email Story

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — With electricity supply rates on the rise, the city of Pittsfield is reminding the community of the benefits of its Community Choice Power Supply Program, also known as municipal aggregation, which offers residents a low and locked in rate.

Initiated in 2017, the city’s program has helped electric consumers in Pittsfield realize monthly savings by offering a lower rate than the Eversource basic service supply rate. Currently, Dynegy Energy provides the electric power supply for all consumers participating in the program and offers a contracted stable rate of $0.09603 per kWh for all rate classes through January 2024.

To confirm existing enrollment, please check your monthly electric statement. If Dynegy is printed under the “Supplier Services” section of your monthly bill, then you are enrolled. If you are not a part of the municipal aggregation program, but wish to enroll, you may opt-in at colonialpowergroup.com/pittsfield or call Dynegy Energy at 866-220-5696 and ask to be enrolled.

If you are currently contracted with your own competitive supplier, be sure to confirm with them that you will not incur any early termination fees or penalties for leaving their supply.

For more information on the Community Choice Power Supply Program, call 413-499-9344. A link is also available under the “Hot Topics” column on the city’s website, cityofpittsfield.org.
