PITTSFIELD , Mass. -- The Pittsfield softball team ended its season red hot with a 10-1 win over the Taconic Thunder on Friday.

The Generals’ Mia DeJesus pitched in the circle for a complete game, as did Taconic’s Cheyann Goddard.

Pittsfield’s offense, which has scored at least seven runs in each of the last six games, kept that run going with 10 hits.

Amanda Pou, Mia DeJesus, and Isabella MacDonald accounted for six of those hits.

The first inning was an offensive explosion for the Generals.

Pou, Lopez, and MacDonald hit back-to-back-to-back doubles to score 3 runs.

“It was really a great team effort, the energy was huge the entire game,” DeJesus said. “We always have great energy.

“I was hitting my pitches all game and my team's energy really helped me today, an overall amazing game for us.”

The Thunder struggled offensively on Friday only recording five hits.

Taconic’s  run was scored by recently returned Ella Stodden, who went 2-for-3 with a double.

Pitching seemed to be an issue for the Generals and the Thunder early but became more consistent late in the game.

Defense was no issue for the Thunder, or Generals with three errors between them.

“We’re ready for Western Mass Playoffs, as for State Playoffs we can not give a response to at this time,” Pittsfield coach Brian MacDonald said. “We plan to play every game like it’s the championship.”

This win made the Generals 15-4 as they will face their first Western Mass Class B playoff game on Monday or Tuesday. Taconic (5-11) also is in line to get a Class B tourney bid. If the most recent in-season power ratings hold, the city rivals could meet again in the regional quarter-finals.
