Five different scorers helped pace Mt. Greylock to an early season Berkshire North win.
"We were able to get our backs forward and into the offense tonight. Ian [Brink] made a great run down the left side and played the ball perfectly into Eric Hirsch for the first goal. Ian may be a back, but he's a serious threat as a scorer and ball striker."
"David Majetich earned his first career goal off a sequence of great one-touch passes and unselfish ball movement. It was the last goal of the night, but it was by far the prettiest goal of the night."
"Again, we were able to move the ball successfully on both sides of the field, which put a lot of pressure on their defensive organization. Wahconah is very fast and we wanted to take some of that speed away but keeping control of the ball.
[In the last minute of the first half, Wahconah senior Kevin Boino went down with an ankle injury after a clean tackle by Jake Foehl. Once he was out of the game, Wahconah lost some of its offensive punch.]
"It's a shame to see a player of Kevin's quality have to leave the game. He's so dangerous every time he touches the ball and he's such a big part of the Wahconah offense. It will be best for Berkshire County soccer if Kevin's injury is minor and he returns to the field soon."
