CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Lenox volleyball team Monday erased a 10-point deficit in the third set at Chicopee.

It ended up losing that set but won the war, taking a five-set win over the Pacers, 22-25, 25-13, 24-26, 25-23, 15-8.

“It was the indomitable spirit and leadership of captain Abby Winger that sparked a game-changing rally, igniting an unstoppable mindset and momentum shift for the Millionaires,” Lenox coach Steve Laurin said. “Abby's pivotal role in thwarting five of the Pacers' outside hitter, Alanys Torres's, attacks, swung the tide in favor of Lenox.

“Despite narrowly losing the third set, the Millionaires remained resilient and clinched a hard-fought 25-23 victory in the fourth set. In the decisive fifth set, the Millionaires asserted their dominance with a 15-8 win, sealing the overall triumph.”

Kelsey Kirchner had eight kills in 19 attacks and four blocks for Lenox, which got 10 kills from Haile Arnold.

Anna Nealon recorded five kills, and Etta Schnackenberg and Grace Julieano directed the offense with 15 and 10 assists, respectively.

Lenox (2-2, 2-0 Southern Division) has another league game on Wednesday at home against Springfield International Charter.
