SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Jeremy Beany doubled in a pair of runs in the top of the fifth to help the McCann Tech baseball team earn an 8-6 win over Commerce on Wednesday.

 

The win gave McCann Tech 10 victories for the season, guaranteeing a .500 season and a berth in the Western Massachusetts tournament.

 

The Hornets scored three tims in the fifth to break a 5-5 tie.

 

Logan Briggs went 3-for-3 with a double, and Omar Uqdah was 2-for-4. Beany ended up with three RBIs.

 

Dalton Tatro went the distance on the hill, striking out nine.

 

McCann Tech (10-4) goes to Sci Tech on Friday.
