"Our intensity in the first part of the game was excellent and we gained confidence with the early first goal."
On the first goal: "The first goal started with a dubious dangerous play call to the right of the Lenox goal. Grant [Raphael] showed his alertness by getting the ball quickly and slotting it back to Sam [Dils]. Sam left little doubt about the outcome with a firm one-touch shot."
"We were disappointed to give up a goal right before the break. We did a poor job of clearing a free kick in to the top of our box, but credit goes to their striker who looped a first-time volley up and over Cal [Filson], who really had no chance."
On the third goal: "Converting a corner is always a bonus. Benni [McComish] played a perfect ball in and Felix smashed it into the back with his head. Hopefully we'll see those two players combine many more times."
"Grant Raphael was outstanding tonight. He worked very hard for 75 minutes. He set up Sam twice with two very unselfish plays, and he took his penalty with authority. The improvement he's made since last season is what a coach hopes he'll see as a player moves from being a sophomore to being a junior."
"We're excited to host the first annual Greylock Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Play kicks off on Friday at 5:00 with Monument Mountain against perennial Vermont power Burr and Burton out of Manchester. In the nightcap at 7:00, we will take on division 1 Chicopee. On Saturday, Monument will play Chicopee at 5:00 and we'll wrap up the weekend by playing Burr and Burton at 7:00."
