Defensive Stand-out: Skylar Case

This was another game of two halves. Lee controlled play in the first half. We definitely came out flat, but they moved the ball, won draws and took great open shots. At halftime, we had a conversation about getting back to the fundamentals and running the offense. It took us some time to get into the second half, but once we scored two at the 4 minute mark, we completely took over. We won draws and defensively made some great plays. Defensive efforts by Bri Lancia, Paige Barrow, Chloe Martel and Skylar Case thwarted Lee attacks and they worked hard to win every ground ball. Using a quick outlet pass, we were able to move the ball quickly up field for a shot/goal.

I'm very proud of these girls. Even though we were down, they continued to work hard to get themselves back into the game. Aubrey Rumbolt and Skylar Case, as captains, did a great job on the field of maintaining composure, staying positive and making big plays. Aubrey, again, demonstrated maturity in taking the ball and finishing the game with her shot. This is the second game she's scored the winning goal.
