CHICOPEE, Mass. -- The Pittsfield girls lacrosse team came back from a four-goal half-time deficit but came out on the wrong end of a 13-6 decision at Chicopee on Wednesday.

 

Shea Hassett and Alex Zuber scored two goals apiece, and Maddie Quinto made 11 saves for the Generals (0-2).

 

"Our JV goalie, Maddie Quinto, really stepped up," Pittsfield coach Jenna Giardina said. "She did a really good job for her first time on varsity."

 

Pittsfield fell into a 4-0 hole at half-time but came back to tie the game with 18 minutes left in the second half before the wheels came off.

 

Riley Nichols and Gillian Campbell scored a goal apiece, and Ali Williamson had an assist in the loss.

 

Pittsfield hosts Chicopee Comp next Wednesady.
