Eagles take Down Mounties with Five-Run Fifth

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Sophomore Alexis Bushika threw five scoreless innings, but the Mount Everett softball team finally got to her in the fifth, scoring five runs in one frame to account for all of the scoring in the Eagles' 5-0 home win over Mount Greylock on Saturday.
Bushika and Everett's Alicia Bazonski were locked up in a pitchers' duel until the bottom of the fifth when the Eagles' bats broke loose. The Mounties managed just four hits on the day, while Everett finished with 12 hits overall. Bushika was charged with three earned runs in the loss, striking out six batters without giving up a walk in a full six innings of work.
Greylock next plays at Drury at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
