Recap for the game: Hoosac Valley vs Sabis on Dec 17
Andrew Milesi's buzzer-beating lay-up gave Hoosac Valley its first win of the year, a 45-44 victory over Sabis.
The hosts led 44-43 when Hoosac (1-2) fouled to give Jeff Mueller a 1-and-1 opportunity. He missed the front end, and Trevor Alibozek grabbed the last of his team-high 14 rebounds to start a Hoosac fast break.
Sean Ryan-Kut took an outlet pass from Alibozek and found Matt Braman, who pulled up in the lane and fed Milesi in the post.
Milesi (three points) sealed off a Sabis defender and sank his only field goal of the night to send Hoosac home a winner.
Alibozek had 16 points to lead all scorers, and Braman scored 10.
It was a close game all night, but Sabis had an eight-point half-time lead before Alibozek scored 12 in a 30-21 second half for the Hurricanes.
