SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Alivia Mauer scored 14 points, and the Lenox girls basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 61-53 win over Mount Everett on Friday night.

Mauer hit four of the Millionaires’ nine 3-pointers to help Lenox rebound from Tuesday’s loss to Franklin Tech.

Chloe Pasenios scored 11, and Jocelyn Fairfield and Kelsey Kirchner added nine and eight, respectively, in the win.

After going into half-time up by four, Lenox outscored the Eagles, 18-11, in the third to take control.

“Great game, back and forth tonight,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “Coach [Nicole] Patella has her girls playing extremely tough defense and putting a lot of pressure on our girls tonight. We just lacked a number of players (only had 7 tonight) so our tank was tapped out tonight with the action.

“I thought our girls played really well tonight. We did struggle at the free throw line (missed 18) and had 23 turnovers, which anytime you have those type of stat line numbers it will be extremely hard to win games.”

Emily Steuernagle and Emma Goewey led all scorers with 19 points apiece to lead Mount Everett.

The Eagles (4-4) go to Franklin Tech on Monday.

Lenox (6-1) is at Palmer on Monday.
