ADAMS, Mass. – Zach Mongeon Monday carded a 5-over-par 39 on Monday to earn medalist honors and lead the Hoosac Valley golf team to a 172-198 win over Monument Mountain.
“We had a solid performance from the team today,” Hoosac Valley coach Jason Sniezek said. “I think we can improve even more just by focusing on chipping and putting.”
Frank Field finished at 42, and Gabe Bishop (44) and Nick Pompi (46) rounded out the scoring for the Hurricanes. Bishop birdied the par-4 eighth hole.
Greg Kay led the Spartans with a 42. He was backed up by Liam Trask’s 49.
Monument Mountain hosts Wahconah on Thursday.
Hoosac Valley (2-2) is at Mount Greylock on Thursday.
