PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Seyvon Kouao and Carter Matthews each scored two goals Friday to lead the Pittsfield boys soccer team to a 6-0 win over Lenox at Kirvin Park.
Sam Higuera and Hedi Abderrahim each scored a goal, and Luke Peplowski had two assists.
“The boys came out hard right from the beginning, we connected passes well and pressed them into their zone,” Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil said. “After the first goal, we left down our guard for a little bit and Lenox out worked us for a good chunk of the first half. Once Seyvon put in our second, though, we regained our momentum and settled down a bit.”
Kouao’s first goal came in the 28th minute of the first half. The Generals went on to score four times in an 11-minute span to take a 5-0 lead into half-time.
Avi Snowise needed to make two saves to earn the shutout win in goal.
Jacob Munch stopped 14 shots for Lenox (6-7-2), which hosts Monument Mountain on Monday.
Pittsfield (9-1-2) hosts Taconic on Saturday afternoon as part of a boys-girls double-header at Kirvin Park.
