McCann Struggles in Loss to Sci-Tech

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The 2012 season got off to a tough start for the McCann Tech boys' soccer team, which allowed three goals in each half to drop a 6-1 decision at home to Sci-Tech on Friday.
Jamison Major netted a hat trick for the CyberCats, including two goals in the first half that gave the visitors a 3-0 lead just 23 minutes into the game. Bryton Banks also added a pair of goals, while Keshab Mainali paced the Sci-Tech offense with four assists.
Sophomore Corey Hartley had the lone highlight for the Hornets, scoring his team's first goal of the season in the 63rd minute of play. Senior keeper P.J. Laliberte had a busy day in net for McCann, finishing with 14 saves.
The Hornets return to action with a road game against St. Mary's at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
