NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Madison Saunders scored twice Saturday to lift the Drury girls soccer team to a 2-1 win over Springfield Central.
Central put pressure on right away and scored early in the match at MCLA’s Zavattaro Athletics Complex.
But keeper Brooke Bishop and the Drury defense held up to the pressure the rest of the way to keep the game within reach.
“Just like the Hoosac game, the Devils were flat to start the game and made adjustments in the second half to score,” Drury coach Sy Uqdah said.
Saunders’ two second-half goals helped the Blue Devils continue their five-game winning streak.
Drury (7-7-1) finishes the regular season on Tuesday when St. Mary’s comes to North Adams.
