LENOX, Mass. -- Tova Brown scored a goal and added an assist Monday to lead the Lenox girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Taconic.

Brown scored the only goal the Millionaires needed early in the first half with an assist from Kristin Parkinson, and Parkinson set up Sarah Fenton for an insurance goal midway through the second.

Then Taconic (2-1) ran into some bad luck.

"Unfortunately, with about 20 minutes left as we were on a breakaway their goalkeeper, Jackie Boateng, came out to cut down the angle as Abby Schilling, and as Abby was touching it past her, the goalie got a piece of Abby on the way by, taking her out of the play," Lenox coach Kyle Zinchuk explained. "That left a tough decision for the referee, and she was shown a red card. But Taconic continued to play hard the remainder of the game even down a player."

Jaclynn Hatahaway converted the penalty kick in the 60th minute, and Brown set up Nicole Gamberoni for Lenox's final goal.

Shannon Meisberger earned the shutout win in goal.

"Taconic played a very tough first half, did a good job of bottling us up in the final third," Zinchuk said. "In the second half we continued to create chances and apply pressure and fortunately were able to convert a few more."

Lenox (3-0) goes to McCann Tech on Wednesday, when Taconic hosts Mount Everett.
