DALTON, Mass. -- Hannah Bowlby scored four goals Wednesday to lead the Wahconah girls lacrosse team to a 7-3 win over Mount Greylock.
Sydney Smith made eight saves, and Jilly Cote, Ava Massaro and Kaeli Talora each scored a goal as Wahconah (7-2) avenged a one-goal loss in Williamstown earlier this season.
“Today's game was definitely a solid team effort,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “Our strong defensive play backstopped by Sydney Smith led to a strong offensive effort. We were patient moving the ball which gave Hannah Bowlby some nice opportunities to drive. It was nice to see Kaeli Talora being very strong with the ball.
“We have been focusing on our passing game and being patient and not rushing the passes. Catie Ronayne did a fantastic job on defense as well as in our transition.”
Emma Stevens scored two goals, and Ainsley Abel added a goal for the Mounties, who got nine saves from Christy Rech.
Mount Greylock (6-1) hosts Hoosac Valley on Monday.
Wahconah goes to Lee on Thursday.
