Hurricanes drops 6-2 game to the Mt. Everett High Eagles despite efforts ofKassy Kazimierczak
Kassy Kazimierczak did all she could to give Hurricanes a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past the Mt. Everett High Eagles, as Hurricanes lost 6-2 in seven innings at Mt. Everett high school on Thursday.
Kazimierczak was hot from the plate for Hurricanes. Kazimierczak went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the seventh inning.
A Bazonski got the win for the Mt. Everett High Eagles. She allowed two runs over seven innings. She struck out 10, walked none and surrendered three hits.
The Mt. Everett High Eagles were sparked by N Macleay and S Hoover, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
The lead stayed with the Mt. Everett High Eagles after the fourth, when they scored two runs on a two-run double by S Hoover.
After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, Hurricanes faced just a 2-1 deficit. A groundout by Brie Hayden triggered Hurricanes' comeback. Erin Girard struck out to end the Hurricanes threat.
The Mt. Everett High Eagles added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Macleay kicked things off with a solo home run. That was followed up by #12's single, bringing home S Hoover.
Hurricanes scored one run in the top of the seventh to cut its deficit to four. A solo home run by Kazimierczak set off Hurricanes rally. The Mt. Everett High Eagles' Bazonski induced a Girard strike out to close things out.
