SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Emma Goewey doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Senior Day as the Mount Everett softball team beat Lee, 6-0, in the regular season finale for both teams.
Julia Devoti went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and in the circle, she struck out five and scattered five hits in a complete-game shutout.
“Today we celebrated Senior Night for Emma Goewey, and it really has been a pleasure and honor to be a part of her career,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “Pitching, defense and timely hitting has been our formula to success and the girls did all those things again today. We had a lot of great plays in the field, some timely hits, and another quality start from Julia.”
Makayla Carpenter was 1-for-2 and scored a run for the Eagles (11-6).
Lee’s Bri Lynch went 2-for-3 at the plate and struck out 12 in the circle.
The Wildcats (11-7), like Mount Everett, learn Friday who they will face in the quarter-finals of next week’s Western Massachusetts tournament.
