GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Manny Brown Thursday scored 29 points to lead the Monument Mountain boys basketball team to an 86-64 win over South Hadley in the Western Massachusetts Class B semi-finals.

 

The victory sets up a rematch of last year’s Class B Championship Game as the Spartans head to Pittsfield’s Boys and Girls Club to take on the Pittsfield Generals, 68-66 winners over Taconic on Thursday night on the other side of the bracket.

 

Brown got off to a strong start on Thursday, scoring 10 in the first quarter to help Monument Mountain build a 20-9 lead.

 

Dominic Calautti scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a dominating performance.

 

“Dom was a beast inside,” Monument Mountain coach Randy Koldys said. He controlled the boards on both ends.”

 

Griffin McElroy hit five 3-pointers and scored 19 points.

 

Christian Blanchard finished in double figures with 10 points.

 

Monument Mountain lost last year’s regional final to Pittsfield at the Club but beat the Generals, 58-52, when the teams played in Great Barrington in early January.
