GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Manny Brown scored 24 points Wednesday to lead the Monument Mountain boys basketball team to a 74-60 win over Cathedral in the Division 4 State Tournament Round of 16.

 

The fifth-seeded Spartans earned a spot in the Elite 8, where on Saturday they will host No. 13 Cohasset, an upset winner over No. 4 Millbury on Wednesday night.

 

On Wednesday, Monument Mountain started to separate in the second quarter, when Dom Calautti scored 10 of his 15 points to help extend a two-point margin after the first quarter to a 37-25 half-time lead.

 

Brown scored 10 points in the third to help maintain that lead.
