MONSON, Mass. – Genevieve Lagess scored 16 points Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team to a 51-35 win over Monson.

 

After trailing, 15-12, at the end of the first quarter, the Hurricanes clamped down defensively and held the Mustangs to nine points over the next two quarters.

 

Isabella Klose scored 10 points, and Emma Meczywor and Ashlyn Lesure added six apiece in the win.

 

Hoosac Valley (13-3) takes a seven-game winning streak into Monday’s home game against South Hadley.
