PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Jaelynn Walker scored 16 points Tuesday to lead the Taconic girls basketball team to a 47-25 win over Amherst.

 

The Thunder played suffocating defense in the first half, holding the Hurricanes to five points in the first quarter and zero in the second quarter to take a 27-5 lead into half-time.

 

Evellyn Croce scored 14 points – 12 on 3-pointers.

 

Kiannah Josephs knocked down three triples and scored 12 points.

 

Taconic (1-1) goes to Williamstown to play Mount Greylock on Monday.
