GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Chloe Laroche scored 13 points Tuesday to lead the Belchertown girls basketball team to a 50-35 win over Monument Mountain.

 

Polly Geddes scored a game-high 14 for the Spartans.

 

Geddes scored six in the third quarter, when Monument Mountain outscored the Orioles, 16-13, to cut into an 11-point half-time deficit.

 

"I felt like [Tuesday] night was the most energy and the best effort that we have collectively given all year," Monument Mountain coach Joe Valerio said. "We had a lot of good looks that didn’t fall for us but overall I’m really happy with the energy and effort that we gave last night."

 

Monument Mountain (0-7) hosts Pope Francis on Friday.
