CHESHIRE, Mass. – Ashlyn Lesure scored 17 points Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team to a 62-24 win over Hopkins Academy in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D Tournament.

 

The Hurricanes held the eighth-seeded Golden Hawks to four points in the first half and took a commanding 42-4 lead into the locker room at half-time.

 

Genevieve Lagess scored 11 points, and Emma Meczywor added 10 in the win.

 

No. 1 Hoosac Valley (16-3) takes a 10-game winning streak into Tuesday’s regional semi-final against No. 4 Granby, a 57-47 winner over Smith Academy on Friday night.
