Barbara Dean, 86

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Barbara (Beaton) Dean, a resident of the North Adams area for most of her 86 years, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022 after a long illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years and best friend Lawrence Dean; son Timothy Dean and wife Julia; son Todd Dean and wife Donna. She was predeceased by son Thomas and granddaughter Bethany. She was the devoted Gramma to Jenna, Kyleigh, Alicia, Tommy and Lauren as well as her six great grandchildren Oliver, Kenzie, Ellowyn, Caleb, Perry and Finnley. She also leaves behind her beloved sister Agnes Lefave and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara enjoyed cooking, shopping, and traveling but spending time with her family brought her the greatest joy of all especially her grandchildren. She was often found sitting on the floor playing with them even in her later years. She was loved by all who came in contact with her and will be remembered by her laugh, kindness, and gentle demeanor.

Barbara was a communicant at St Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams and was a long time waitress at the Capitol restaurant in North Adams and the Red Carpet in Adams. She loved taking care of people.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Barbara Dean will be celebrated on Saturday May 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. A reception will follow at the American Legion in North Adams.
