AMHERST, Mass. – Jake Newberry and Jameson Bayliss each doubled in a seven-hit attack Tuesday as the Mount Greylock baseball team earned a 13-8 win at Amherst.

Mason Canata spurred the offense by stealing three bases and scoring three runs. He reached base four times at the top of the lineup, picking up a walk and three singles in five plate appearances.

Bayliss, Canata and Jason Jaros split time on the mound. Bayliss struck out nine while allowing five earned runs in five innings of work. Jaros came on in relief and went 1 and a third before giving the ball to Canata for the final two outs.

Mount Greylock (3-0) hosts Southwick on Wednesday.
