WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Ben Jacob scored on a passed ball with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday to give Pittsfield a 7-6 win over West Springfield in the continuation of a game suspended earlier this season due to darkness.

Jacob started the inning with an infield single and moved up when Jake Duquette was intentionally walked.

After a fly ball to right by Nick Brindle allowed Jacob to get to third base, he scored on the third pitch to Simon Mele to end the game.

Roshan Warriar earned the win on the mound with four innings of scoreless relief.

Warrior struck out three, walked one and allowed just one hit.

Pittsfield, which fell behind, 6-3, in the fourth inning, built a picket fence from there, scoring one run in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth.

The tying run in the bottom of the seventh came home on a sacrifice fly by Jack Reed.

Jackson Almeida led off the inning by drawing a walk, and Connor Devine went in as a courtesy runner.

With one out, Morrie Fried singled to left to move Devine into scoring position, and he got to third on a passed ball during Reed’s at-bat.

Jacob and Bridle each went 2-for-5 at the plate, and Duquette and Mele each doubled in a 10-hit Pittsfield attack.

The Generals improved to 7-4 before playing a regularly scheduled game against the Terriers later on Saturday.
