GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – The Monument Mountain boys basketball team Tuesday used a 26-8 third quarter to open a 29-point lead en route to a 72-40 win over Drury in the Spartans’ regular season finale.
Khalil Carlson scored 28 points to lead the way as Monument Mountain improved to 18-0 heading into next week’s Western Massachusetts Class B tournament.
Twelve of Carlson’s 28 points came in the decisive third quarter, after Monument Mountain led, 34-23, at half-time.
Griffin McElroy scored 12, and Manny Brown added 11 in the win.
Jorge Bond scored 10 to lead Drury, which got eight points and 10 rebounds from Sam Moorman.
The Blue Devils (12-5) finish the regular season at Hoosac Valley on Thursday.
