WESTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Hampshire’s Dominik Lewinski scored 15 points, and the McCann Tech boys basketball team’s fourth-quarter comeback bid came up short in the end as the Hornets took their first loss of the season.
“Tough loss,” McCann Tech coach Chris Bullett said. “We rallied from 46-37 in the final three minutes on three Tom Ziemba 3s to tie it, 50-50. Then we missed a shot to tie it 52-52 with six seconds left.
“Great game.”
Playing after a seven-day layoff, McCann Tech (2-1) got 18 points from Keeghan Vidal and 12 from Jeremy Beany.
Ziemba finished with nine points, all in the fourth.
The Hornets go to Lenox on Wednesday.
