PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Pittsfield Police Department responded to the vicinity of 47 John St. for a report of shots fired on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at approximately 3:38 p.m.
Preliminary investigation on the scene by patrol and detectives indicated that multiple shots had been fired and that a vehicle parked at the scene had been struck by one projectile.
Witnesses at the scene were able to provide investigators with the complete names of three suspects and first names of an additional two suspects. Additional information from follow-up witnesses provided partial clothing descriptions and direction of travel. Approximately 30 minutes after the initial report, three suspects were stopped and detained in the area of First Street. All three suspects were arrested and charged with three counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon and one count of vandalism. The arrested parties have been identified as Nathaniel Marksman, 21, Christopher Grant, 17, and an unnamed juvenile.
