Alice Tavelli Hunkler, 87
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Alice Margaret Tavelli Hunkler, 87, of George Avenue died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in North Adams on Sept. 30, 1927, a daughter of Albert Leslie and Barbara Elizabeth Thomann Thomason, she attended schools in Williamstown until moving to Seattle to live with her brother, Melvin, and graduated from high school there. She attended the former Bliss Business College upon returning to Williamstown and later studied real estate and became a licensed realtor in Massachusetts.
Mrs. Hunkler was employed in telephone surveying for the U.S. government after moving to Falls Church, Va., in 1967. She moved back to North Berkshire in 1993.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Her first husband, Clinton Tavelli, died in 1994; and her husband, Oscar C. Hunkler, in 2011.
She leaves a daughter, Lisa Marie Tavelli Feinberg and her husband, Mark, of Ellicott City, Md.; granddaughter, Alaina Feinberg, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Mark Everett Tavelli, on Feb. 6, 1993, and two brothers, Allen and Melivin Thomason.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Hunkler will be held Friday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown, followed by burial in Eastlawn Cemetery.
