Vincent L. DeMarsico, 69

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Vincent L. DeMarsico, 69, of North Adams died Friday, July 24, 2015, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Born in North Adams on Oct. 25, 1945, a son of Francis and Florence Dudley DeMarsico, he graduated from Drury High School in North Adams.

A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, he served with the Air Force.

Mr. DeMarsico was appointed in 1976 to the North Adams Police Department, serving the city until his retirement in 2002. He had first worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. for several years.

He was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association. He was an accomplished cook and an avid fan of the New York Yankees.

He leaves his loving children, two daughters, Kelli Boyce and her husband, Mark, and Jessica Priester and her husband, Patrick, all of North Adams; a son, James V. DeMarsico and his fiancée, Danielle, of Pittsfield; a sister, Carol Wood of Adams; a brother, Albert DeMarsico of North Adams, and four grandchildren, Carson, Mackenzie, Brennan and Braelyn.

His siblings Francis "Moose" DeMarsico and Elizabeth Formhals are deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. DeMarsico will take place Wednesday, July 29, at 11 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery with full police and military honors.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 28, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for Elder Services of the Berkshires or the Friends of Renal Dialysis (FORD) at BMC through the funeral home.

iwent to school with vinnie as a good friend when we were growing up in north adams,,, left north adams in 1960.. now reside in san diego, ca.... have fond memories hanging out at brayton school grounds playing cribbage ...playing baseball and just hanging out...so sorry he passed i know he had alot friendsmay he rest in peace.....................................JIMMY

Saddened to hear my childhood best friend has passed. I sometimes still reminisce about the pickup baseball games played by the West Main St kids. We all loved baseball especially "Monk". He was a was a damned good player, albeit a Yankees fan. RIP Vincent.
