Helen L. Tatro, 79
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Helen Louise Tatro, 79, of 40 Central Ave. died Thursday morning, Aug. 22, 2002, at North Adams Commons.Born in North Adams on Oct. 1, 1923, daughter of Louis and Helen Primmer Franz, she attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from the former Williamstown High School with the class of 1941.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Tatro was employed for several years at the former Gaevert Film Co. in Williamstown. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was charter member of the North Adams TOPS Club. She also was a member of the North Adams Disabled American Veterans Ladies' Auxiliary.
She and her husband, Norman Leo Tatro, were married Nov. 18, 1944, in Notre Dame Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, David Tatro of Williamstown and Steven Tatro of North Adams; four grandchildren, Jennifer Tatro, Ashley Tatro, David Tatro and Allison Stapelton and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Franz, in infancy.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Tatro will be celebrated Monday at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown.
Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams will be Monday morning from 9:30 to 1O:30.
