Frances R. Louison, 87
PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Frances Rita Louison, 87, formerly of 200 Cheshire Road, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.Born in North Adams on June 22, 1915, daughter of Louis and Elisabetta Rosati Irace, she was educated in local schools, including Drury High School.
Mrs. Louison was employed by GE as a crane operator, retiring in 1962 with more than 20 years of service. She also had worked at the former H.W. Clark Biscuit Co. in North Adams until the outbreak of World War II.
While a resident of North Adams, she was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. While in Pittsfield, she was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. She was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed crocheting.
Her husband, Edward August Louison, whom she married July 2, 1949, in St. Anthony's Church, died Aug. 14, 1995.
She leaves three sisters, Constance Briola and Rose E. Girardi, both of North Adams, and Mary Maselli of Clarksburg; three brothers, Austin Rogge of Adams, Henry E. Irace of North Adams and John Irace of New Castle, Pa.; nieces and nephews, including her caregivers, John and Katie Lanoue of Williamstown, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Angelina Laino earlier the same day, Josephine Scalise and Philomena "Mamie" Richardello.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Mrs. Louison will be Monday, Jan. 6, at 9 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Francis of Assisi Church with the Rev. Albert J. Dagnoli, CSS, officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 5, from 2 to 4 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for any charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home, 74 Marshall Ave., North Adams, MA 01247.
