Norman L. Chenail, 87
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Norman Louis Chenail, 87, of 79 Tremont St. died Thursday morning, March 4, 2004, at North Adams Regional Hospital, where he was admitted Feb. 22. Born in Williamstown on July 20, 1916, son of Frederick and Jessie LaFramboise Chenail, he moved to North Adams at an early age and attended schools here. He graduated from Drury High School in 1935.
Mr. Chenail joined the former Sprague Electric Co. in 1935 and was a foreman at the time of his retirement in 1970, with more than 35 years of service with the company.
He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church of North Adams and a member of the Sprague Electric Quarter-Century and the Management clubs.
He and his wife, the former June H. Lamoureux, were married April 26, 1941, in Notre Dame Church in North Adams.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Richard N. Chenail and his wife, Gunnel, of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Michele D. Chenail and Antoinette J. Hawke and her husband, Thomas, all of North Adams; two sisters, Loretta Petropolus and Mildred Giroux, both of North Adams; a brother, Albert Chenail of North Adams, four granddaughters, Ingrid Doyle and her husband, John, Heidi Chenail, Suzanne Harnick and her husband, Brian, and Laura Hawke; five great-grandchildren, Alicia and Matthew Doyle, Racquel Chenail, and Jackson and Danielle Harnick, and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings Christine O'Connell, Rita Harvey, Russell Chenail and Clifford Chenail.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' Funeral services for Norman Chenail will take place Saturday, March 6, at 9:15 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Mercy Shrine, Massachusetts Avenue, North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Donations maybe sent to BFAIR Development Fund through the funeral home.
