Ralph H. Reynolds, 68

November 05, 2008

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Ralph H. Reynolds, 68, of Fairview Terrace died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield following a brief illness.

Born in Great Barrington on Dec. 6, 1939, son of Wallace Reynolds and Ethel Goewey Reynolds Deane, he graduated from the former Searles High School in 1958.

An Army veteran, he served from October 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1962.

Mr. Reynolds was employed at Rising Paper Co. and its successor, Fox River Paper, for 39 years before retiring in 2002.

Family and friends always came first with him. He enjoyed puttering around the house, going out for car rides and talking to those he loved. He loved gardening and enjoyed going to his senior lunches and bingo. His family said he was the "king of the remote" who enjoyed channel surfing between sporting events, movies and politics. He was a fan of music, especially when performed by his children or grandson.

He and his wife, the former Beverly Hawkins, were married Aug. 14, 1965.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Marci Reynolds; a son, Mark Reynolds and his wife, Mary, of Great Barrington; five sisters, Myrna Marks, Roberta Loring, Jean Massini, Jacqueline Towle and Patricia Parris; four brothers, Wallace Reynolds, Richard Reynolds, Frederick Parris and Wallace Parris; his grandson, Justin Reynolds, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by another brother, John Deane Sr. in 1989.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Ralph H. Reynolds will be Saturday, Nov. 8, at 11 from Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, Nov. 7, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Remembrances, memories and reflections may be sent to the family through www.finnertyandstevens.com.
