BMC Offers Breast Cancer Wellness Series
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Women's Imaging Center at Berkshire Medical Center is presenting an eight-week wellness program for those who have undergone breast cancer treatment, featuring exercise, nutrition information and stress reduction techniques.The program is being offered on Tuesdays from Jan. 4 through Feb. 22, 2011, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the BMC Medical Arts Complex, fifth floor classroom.
Facilitators for the program are Marsha Schulte, registered dietitian at BMC; Kim Murdock, a registered nurse from the Women's Imaging Center at BMC, Lisa Avery, radiologic technologist at BMC and Jenna Grelle Laramee, a registered nurse and certified personal trainer.
The program will stress weight stabilization, reduction of discomfort, healthy eating habits, stimulating the immune system, handling stress and increasing energy, while making new friends and having fun. The program will feature six weeks of light exercise, including dance and stretching, one week of nutrition instruction and one week of stress reduction.
