According to a story in the Falmouth Patch, Fohlin was the first of the four finalist to be interviewed for the open town manager position. Fohlin is up against town managers or town administrators James Boudreau, Julian Suso and Bonnie Therrien, all of whom also interviewed Thursday.
Fohlin explained his management style and said he expects public officials to "strive for perfection." He boasted openness, communication and knowledge of issues Falmouth faces, according to patch. He also used examples in the Williamstown budget as ways to save money.
Fohlin was chosen as a finalist out of a pool of 78 last month. He said the job is an "extremely rare" opportunity to work with a larger and more complex organization and move closer to his home on Martha's Vineyard.
Also according to Falmouth Patch, the Falmouth board is expected to further narrow down the candidates on Monday. The board will then visit the town where the candidates currently work and schedule a second round of interviews. A final decision is expected in September.
