Rinaldo Del Gallo Jr., 86

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Rinaldo Del Gallo Jr., 86, of Pittsfield died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Craneville Place of Dalton, where he had been a patient for the past six weeks. 

Born in the family home in Pittsfield on April 1, 1930, the son of Rinaldo Del Gallo and Concetta Marulli Del Gallo, he was a 1948 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He then served in the United States Air Force. Continuing his education, he graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1955, and in 1961 from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Masters in Business Administration degree. 

An accountant by profession, Mr. Del Gallo first worked for several firms in the Berkshires and in Connecticut. He was then employed as Vice President of Finance for Babbit Products, and later as Vice President of Finance for KB Toys in Lee. In 1981, he founded his own firm, Corporate Finance Associates. 

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his crops. 

Mr. Del Gallo leaves his wife, the former Joyce Allen, whom he married September 9, 1961, in Messiah Lutheran Church in Newtown Square, Penn.; three sons, Rinaldo Del Gallo III, Esq. of Lenox, Walter A. Del Gallo, MD (and his wife Gigi) of San Dia, Texas, and Paul M. Del Gallo of Boston; his daughter, Deanna J. Del Gallo of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Rinaldo IV, Jasmine, Marc, Roman, Margaret, and Colvin; a brother, former Pittsfield mayor Remo Del Gallo of Pittsfield; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by two brothers: Joseph Del Gallo and Rezziero Del Gallo; and a sister, Bambina Tagliaferro.

Funeral notice: A memorial service for Rinaldo Del Gallo Jr. will be held Saturday, October 29, at 3 p.m at Zion Lutheran Church, 74 First Street, Pittsfield, with Rev. Timothy Weisman, Pastor, officiating. A time of visitation will precede the service beginning at 2 p.m. 

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association  or to Zion Lutheran Church Capital Campaign in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
