Cathleen Belanger, 80
LEE, Mass. — Cathleen A. Belanger, 80, of Hyde Place in Lee died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 5, 2017.
She was born March 17, 1936, in Becket, the daughter of Pearl and Viola Harding Chandler and was educated in the Becket Schools. Cathleen had worked at the Rice Silk Mill in Pittsfield, and then at various area restaurants and last worked at the Schweitzer-Mauduit Paper Mills in Lee.
She enjoyed going to Foxwoods, doing crossword puzzles, bingo, swimming and especially being with her family.
Mrs. Belanger leaves her son, David E. Belanger and his wife Jane of Lee; her two daughters, Anne M. Roosa and her husband Kevin of Lee and Teresa M. Chaffee and her husband Donald of Otis; and her brother Harry Chandler and his wife Judy of Windsor. She also leaves her nine grandchildren, Edward and Kevin Roosa Jr., Matthew, Nicholas and Donald Chaffee III, and Emily, Crystal, David and Rachel Belanger; and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Belanger also leaves behind her caregiver, Laurie Wade.
Mrs. Belanger was predeceased by her son, Richard P. Belanger, in 1981; her two brothers, Harold "Spud" and Stephen Chandler; as well as her two sisters Elizabeth King and Bernice Daigle.
Funeral notice: The funeral for Cathleen Belanger will be held on Friday morning, March 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Neil of the First Congregational Church in Lee, officiating. Visiting hours will be on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
