Charles Fuller, 77

LEE, Mass. — Charles David Fuller, 77, of Lee, formerly of Huntington, died Wednesday evening, March 15, 2017, at the Kindred Laurel Lake Center. 

He was born December 10, 1939 in Tewksbury, Mass., and attended the Smith Vocational and Agricultural School in Northampton. 

Mr. Fuller was a heavy equipment operator for various construction companies, including D.R. Billings in Lanesborough. Prior to his construction work, Mr. Fuller worked for a shoe mill in Worthington.

Charles was a farmer for many years and had a great love for animals, especially his dogs and his horses. He also enjoyed barrel racing, was a motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed spending many a winter in Florida with his wife, the former Dorothy J. Hunt, whom he married February 19, 1994.

Besides his wife, Dorothy Fuller of Lee, Mr. Fuller leaves behind four sons, Michael Fuller and his wife Cynthia of Lee, Stephen Fuller and his wife Linda of Westfield, John E. Joyner Jr. of Pittsfield and Duane Joyner and his wife Catherine of New Paltz, N.Y.; three daughters, Linda Olszewski and her husband Dennis of Great Barrington, Robin Townson and her husband Ray of Pittsfield and Karen Joyner of Lenox; 11 grandchildren, Richard Rockefeller, Joseph, Kayla and Samantha Fuller, Jaime LaFreniere, Joshua and Jarrod Stanton, Nicholas Roy, Matthew and Adam “AJ” Joyner and Tanya Gaudette; and seven great-grandchildren, Sara, Kelsey, Parker, Weston, Riley, Jocelyn and Hailey.

Mr. Fuller was predeceased by his foster mother, Winifred Braiman, his two sons: Ronald and Mark Fuller and his grandson, William “Billy” Joyner.

Funeral notice: A memorial service for Charles Fuller will be held Wednesday, March 22, at 11 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Lee Ambulance Service or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
