Helen C. Leja, 97

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Helen C. (Dudek) Leja, 97, of Nashua, N.H., formerly a longtime resident of Adams, died on Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Kindred/Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home in Nashua. 

She was born in Adams on June 29, 1919, a daughter of the late Peter and Stefania (Wojnarowska) Dudek. She had attended schools in Adams.

Mrs. Leja worked in the Power Transformer division of the former General Electric Co., Pittsfield, for 30 years until retiring. 

While in Adams she was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. 

Her husband, Frank J. Leja, whom she married on May 1, 1943 died in 1983. 

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Pedrin and her husband Gary of Nashua, N.H.; her granddaughter, Katie Pedrin of Nashua; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Leja; three brothers, Walter, Stanley and Edwin Dudek; as well as her two sisters, Josephine Granger and Daisy Dudek. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will be private for the family. 

Calling hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to the time of the service in the funeral home. The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations may be made to the Katie L. Pedrin Trust, C/O Pamela Pedrin, 6 Jolori Lane, Nashua, NH 03062.
