Liana Anna Knox, 89

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Liana Anna Marie Guidi Knox, 89, of Clarksburg died Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Born in Boston on Jan. 30, 1928, daughter of Charles R. and Agene Togneri Guidi, she graduated from St. Xavier Academy in Providence, R.I., and attended Rhode Island College. She completed flight school in Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. Knox was employed as a supervisor for the former TWA Airlines for 35 years until her retirement.

She was a communicant of St. John Bosco Church in Stamford, Vt. She was a member of the Clarksburg Seniors and served as treasurer of the Clarksburg Council on Aging and president of the Friends of the Council on Aging. After her retirement, she worked as an assistant tax collector for the town of Clarksburg and worked in the admissions department of the former North Adams Regional Hospital.

She loved animals, especially dogs.

Her husband, Peter Knox, whom she married on Sept. 3, 1955, died on May 13, 1990.

She leaves nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews, including Celeste Bolte and her husband, Todd, Leanora Cilento and her husband, Bartley, Celena Bolte, Adriana Bolte, Elizabeth Cilento, and Audrey Cilento; and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Guidi of Deland, Fla.

She was predeceased by her brother, Clento J. Guidi, and her sister-in-law, Eleanor Salerno Guidi.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Knox will be celebrated Tuesday, April 25, at 11 from St. John Bosco Church in Stamford, Vt. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to the North Shore Animal League or the Friends of the Clarksburg Council on Aging in care of the funeral home.
