Ann O'Brien, 74

LEE, Mass. — Ann M. O'Brien, formerly of Lee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2017.

She was born in Pittsfield on December 18, 1942, the daughter of the late George F. "Bud" and Mary V. Pruhenski O'Brien. Ann lived most of her life in Lee, attended Lee schools, graduating from Lee High School in 1960. She was also communicant of St. Mary's Church in Lee.

Ann attended computer school in Pittsfield, where she received an award for Dynamics of Personal Leadership in 1986. Ann worked several years as a CNA at a nursing home in the Berkshires and also worked 3rd hand machine at the Willow Mill in South Lee for two years until she was injured. Ann also waitressed at the Howard Johnson on the Mass Pike, Greenock Country Club, the VFW and Friendly's in Lee.

In 2002 she moved to Greenfield, Mass., where she met her companion, the late Hugh A. Davidson. Together they resided in Charlemont for several years then moved to Bernardston, where they were able to grow roses and lilacs. Ann and Hugh were together for ten years before he became sick and passed away March 18, 2012.

Ann leaves behind one daughter, Judith Ann Young and her husband Michael of Blanchard, Okla.; four grandchildren, Krista Harrington and her fiancé Shaine Coffman of Tuttle, Okla., Jenna Harrington of Blanchard, Okla., and Morgan Young of Colrain, Mass.; two great-granddaughters, Ryleigh and Kinleigh Coffman; one great-grandson who is due in September; her sister, Mary P. Garrity of Lee; her brothers: Harold E. O'Brien and his wife Jennie of Stephentown, N.Y., and Donald A. O'Brien and his wife Vanda of Boca Raton, Fla.; her nieces and nephews; and her friend and caregiver, Carol A. Booker.

Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by her two brothers, George F. 'Bud" O'Brien Jr. and Richard E. "Obie" O'Brien.

Funeral notice: A graveside service for Ann will be held Friday, April 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Fairmount Cemetery in Lee. Arrangements are under the direction of Kelly Funeral Home.
