Dorothy Wehry, 89

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Doris J. Wehry, 89, of 20 Howe Road, Pittsfield, died Monday April 24, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Ramsgate, England, on October 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Albert and Doris Bailey Newton, she was educated in English Schools. Doris was the manager of the catalog department at Sears for more than 20 years.

Doris loved taking care of and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed preparing Sunday dinners and holiday meals for her large extended family. Doris also loved animals, especially her cats.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula Newton-Irelan of Lenox, Mass., Susan Wilkerson of Bedford, Ind., Doris Fenwick and her husband David of Pittsfield, and Kathryn Wehry and her husband Tony Kulesa, with whom she resided, of Pittsfield; her sons, James Wehry of Pittsfield and Louis Wehry and his wife Jill of Pittsfield; her 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore J. Wehry, who died October 21, 2000; and her sisters, Irene Bailey and Joyce Dallman.

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Doris J. Wehry will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, with Rev. William D. Fuery, officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton.
