Thomas Bove, 53

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Thomas M. Bove, 53, of 78 Cole Ave., Pittsfield, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, after being stricken at work.

Born in Pittsfield, on July 10, 1963, the son of Richard T. and Jane E. (Adams) Bove, he was a 1982 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Tom was an equipment operator for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Tom enjoyed traveling, gardening, jazz music and attending jazz concerts. He was an active member of the Civitan Club of Pittsfield and an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #8. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Tom is survived by his wife, the former Sandra J. Phelps of Pittsfield, whom he married October 24, 1998 at the Dalton Methodist Church; his son, Brevan T. Bove of Pittsfield; his sister, Birgundy A. Bove of Pittsfield; his aunt, Mary Tetrault of Arkansas; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Thomas M. Bove will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at 10 a.m., at Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. William D. Furey, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop #8 or to Sandra Bove to begin a college fund for Tom's son Brevan, both in care of the funeral home.
