Mary Catherine Langlois, 86

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Mary Catherine (Goddard) Bessette Langlois, 86, of Clarksburg, Mass., died Monday July 24, 2017, at Williamstown Commons.  

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on August 29, 1930, daughter of Clarence Edward and Hazel (Benjamin) Goddard. She attended local schools.

Mary first worked at Model Laundry and later at White's Laundry. She worked at Sprague Electric for a short time and then worked at General Cable Co in Pownal. She was last employed by Willowood of North Adams for six years until her retirement in 1992.

Mary was a member of the Jesus Saves Tabernacle and Berkshare. She was also a member of the Clarksburg Council on Aging.

She was the widow of Alfred L. Langlois, who died on September 13, 1992. They were married on November 5, 1952.

Survivors include four sons, John Langlois of Adams, Michael Langlois of Clarksburg, David Langlois of North Adams and William Langlois of New York; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen McGinnis of Conway, Mass.; and nieces and nephews.

Her son Frederick Bessette is deceased; two grandchildren are deceased, including Nicole Langlois and Michael Langlois; and three sisters and two brothers are deceased, including Barbara Gardzina, Elizabeth Van, Margaret Van, Clarence and Ralph Goddard.

Funeral notice: The funeral for Mary Langlois will be Friday, July 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.  Memorial donations may be made to Living Hope Community Church in care of the funeral home.

Sorry for your loss. Mary was a large part of our church family for so long and all her children. I will never forget any of you. Much love to you and prayers during this time that the Lord will comfort you and give you peace. Mary is with my parents now singing and praising the Lord.
