Verne Nassif, 97
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Verne (Allen) Nassif, 97, of Williamstown, Mass., died on Monday, September 11, 2017, at North Adams Commons.
She was born in North Adams on December 3, 1919, daughter of Harold & Hazel (Parker) Allen. Verne attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. She attended Briarcliff Manor after high school and worked as a dental assistant in Boston and North Adams. She was primarily a homemaker and was the widow of Edward B. Nassif.
Verne was a loving mom, and friend. She was an avid golfer at Taconic Golf Course, a great bowler at Mt. Greylock Bowl with her distinctive hop, bridge player and entertainer. She was a lifelong member and officer of the DAR, Ft. Massachusetts Chapter.
She will always be remembered for her charm, poise and jelly salad.
Verne is survived by one son, Allen T. Nassif of Burlington, Vt.; a daughter, Robin M. Nassif of Williamstown, Mass.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Parker Allen of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Funeral notice: There will be no services for Verne Nassif. Burial will be at a later date in Southview Cemetery. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, at 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass., is entrusted with arrangements.
